So, just what is a baby blessing?

In a nut shell, it’s welcoming the new baby into the world and asking the God and Goddess to watch over them.

I usually welcome the baby, present the baby to the God/dess, ask for the God/dess’s blessing, ask the family members to welcome the baby and promise to protect the child, ask for the God/dess’s protection of the baby, and formally present the child with their name.

It’s a beautiful ritual and is very special to the family members.
